The present author has used her experience gained during her long stay in Iceland. The book constitutes a study of flute music in Iceland, introducing historical and cultural milestones of this country, Icelandic composers writing for the flute, and achievements of eminent Icelandic flutists. The first part comprises five chapters in which the author present the panorama of the history of Iceland and the development of its cultural life, to elaborate on the specificity of musical life and the flute literature of this country. The second part is a collection od fifteen interviews with Icelandic artists, concerning boadly understood musical culture, particularly the flute music.
